Underage drinkers nabbed in Arnold’s Arnot Hill Park
Police Crack Down on Youth Drinking Spree
Gedling North neighbourhood police swooped on underage drinkers in Arnold’s Arnot Hill Park. Three youths were escorted home, and their booze was confiscated during reassurance patrols.
Anti-Social Behaviour Targeted Across the Area
Officers also patrolled Calverton on Friday night, moving on groups loitering near shops to stop antisocial behaviour in its tracks. Early intervention patrols took place in licensed venues around Arnold and Mapperley Top. Police carried out licensing checks alongside door staff and management, staying visible to keep trouble at bay.
Disorderly Drunken Arrests on Front Street
A woman was arrested on Arnold’s Front Street for being drunk and disorderly. Another man faced the same charge on Saturday night after police broke up a street altercation, though no offences were officially reported.
Patrols Aligned with National Crime Week
These proactive efforts were part of a national Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action that wrapped up on Sunday, 29 January 2023. Nottinghamshire used the week to showcase the crucial daily work neighbourhood teams do to protect residents and businesses.
“Our officers work tirelessly every day to keep communities safe and support local people and businesses,” said Sgt Stu Howe of Gedling North neighbourhood policing. “The week of action was perfect to highlight how we tackle harm and deter crime on our streets.”
