British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an urgent appeal after a brutal robbery at Waltham Cross railway station on the night of Saturday, 19 April 2025.

Shocking Attack on Female Passenger

Just before 11pm, a woman travelling on a Greater Anglia train from Stratford was violently assaulted. A man tried to snatch her phone, then dragged her off the train onto the platform. He punched her to the ground before fleeing the scene.

BTP have issued a CCTV snapshot of the suspect and want the public’s help to track him down. He is described as:

  • Young Black man
  • Wearing a black balaclava, black Nike hoodie, and black puffer jacket
  • Has dark hair and brown eyes

The victim suffered injuries, but police have not revealed the full extent. This attack has raised serious fears about safety on late-night trains.
