Man Attacked in Sittingbourne High Street Assault

Police are hunting witnesses after a violent attack on Sittingbourne High Street. At around 7.30pm on Thursday, 24 October 2019, a man was walking from East Street when a gang of young men approached him near the graveyard.

One of the attackers pounced, sending the victim crashing to the ground. While down, he was kicked in the face and struck on the head with a traffic cone, suffering facial injuries.

Suspect Arrested but Released

Following the assault, officers arrested a 20-year-old man from Sittingbourne on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. He has since been released pending further investigations.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

PC Elliot, leading the inquiry, said: “We believe multiple people may have seen the attack but have yet to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact Kent Police on 01795 419119 quoting crime reference 46/204776/19.”
