Police Hunt Witnesses After Teen Raped in Gravesend Park
Kent cops are on the lookout for two key witnesses after a teenage girl was raped in Gravesend’s Woodlands Park.
Attack Happened Near Play Park
The horrifying assault occurred between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, near the children’s play area in Woodlands Park. It’s believed two people stumbled upon the suspect during the attack, potentially disturbing him.
Suspect Arrested But Now Released
Kent Police were informed of the incident on June 12, 2020. A teenage boy was arrested on June 30 but has since been released while inquiries continue.
Officers Plead for Witnesses to Step Forward
Detective PC Marissa Freeman said: “I appreciate a long time has passed since October 2019, but we urge anyone who was in the park that evening to think back. Two people may have unknowingly witnessed the assault, and their information could be crucial.”
