Vandals Wreck Ramsgate Memorial Garden

Vandals have struck at St Laurence Church’s memorial garden in Ramsgate, smashing headstones and ornaments overnight.

Chaos at St Laurence: Graffiti, Fire, and Floral Theft

The damage was reported between 5pm on Monday, 13 July 2020, and the next day. Alongside the destroyed memorials, graffiti was daubed across the site. Tribute flowers were stolen, and evidence shows a fire was started near a wooden bench.

Police Hunt Heartless Criminals

Thanet District Commander Chief Inspector Ed Ruffle slammed the culprits. “We take a dim view of those who wantonly cause criminal damage, and we appreciate how people will feel when they hear the memorial garden has been desecrated,” he said. Officers are actively investigating to catch those responsible.
