Limavady Blaze: Police Hunt Witnesses After Arson Attack

A house in Limavady’s Drumachose Park was deliberately set on fire last Friday afternoon, sparking chaos and a tense police probe.

Fire Ravages Home, Neighbours Evacuated

Detective Inspector Lavery revealed the blaze broke out around 1:40pm on July 14. The fire caused major damage to the property. Nearby homes were evacuated as firefighters from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service battled the flames.

Two Arrested, Police Seek Crucial Footage

A 24-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were arrested shortly after the attack and remain in custody as the investigation continues.

Detective Inspector Lavery appealed to the public for help. “If you saw anything or have CCTV, dashcam, or doorstep camera footage from the area, please get in touch,” he said. “Your information could be vital.”

Witnesses should call 101, quoting reference 930 of 14/07/23.
