Three nabbed after string of violent robberies in Canterbury!
Night of terror in Canterbury
Police snapped up three suspects after a spree of robbery and public order offences rocked Canterbury on the night of Friday, 18 September 2020.
The troubling incidents unfolded between 10.30pm and 11.30pm in different parts of the city.
Series of brazen attacks
- At 10.30pm, a woman in Dane John Gardens was confronted by a gang demanding cigarettes. When she refused, the men turned abusive.
- Just three minutes later in Castle Street, a man and woman faced a similar threat. One attacker demanded the woman’s watch, but she stood her ground and they fled.
- The worst came at 11.30pm in Station Road East, where a man was punched and robbed of his belongings.
Suspects in custody, but police want your help
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy plus two men aged 18 and 20 that very night. All three have been bailed pending further investigations.
Officers are urging anyone who saw or heard anything during these incidents to come forward.
