Serious Crash Near M2 Medway Services Sparks Police Probe

Two Vehicles Collide on Londonbound M2

Police are hunting witnesses after a nasty smash involving a black Citroen Berlingo van and a gold Volvo estate near Junction 4 on the Londonbound M2. The crash happened around 2.30pm on Saturday, 18 May 2019, right inside the Medway Services site.

Injuries and Arrests Follow Collision

An unmarked police car, already trailing one of the vehicles, was first on the scene. They were soon joined by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, Kent Fire and Rescue, and South East Coast Ambulance Service teams.

The van’s driver suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a London hospital. He remains in critical condition. Another man was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Meanwhile, a man and woman were arrested over the incident and are currently in police custody. Kent Police have passed the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct because of the nearby unmarked police car.
