Woman Arrested After Brazen Hartlepool Marina Dine-and-Dash
A 40-year-old woman has been snapped up by police in Leicestershire after a cheeky no-pay drama at Santonio’s Restaurant on Hartlepool Marina.
Failed Card Payment Sparks Escape
The shamble unfolded around 3:50pm on Monday, March 3, when two women and a man, with a young child in tow, tried to settle their bill with a card – only for it to be declined twice. The trio then claimed they’d nip off to a nearby cash machine but instead bolted from the eatery, leaving staff stunned.
An unidentified male bystander tried to stop them, but the trio made a swift getaway.
Police Describe the Trio
- Male suspect: White, short dark hair, wearing a green Northface puffer jacket and dark Under Armour tracksuit bottoms.
- First female suspect: White, long dark hair, beige body warmer, blue denim leggings.
- Second female suspect: Younger, around 20, blonde hair, grey tracksuit.
Arrest Made Far From Scene
Thanks to a tip-off, cops caught the 40-year-old woman over 150 miles away in Leicestershire. The police have kept quiet about where the lead came from. They reckon all three know each other and suspect the other two may also be hiding out in Leicestershire. Officers are urging the missing pair to turn themselves in.
