Drunken Row at West Croydon Tram Stop Ends in Arrest

An 18-year-old woman was arrested after a booze-fuelled disturbance at West Croydon tram stop turned violent. The chaos erupted on Monday night, 17 March, around 8:30pm.

Spitting and Shouting at Police

British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to the scene following reports of a concern for welfare. On arrival, they found the woman drunk and disorderly. While trying to arrest her, she spat at an officer and onlookers, sparking a further commotion.

The woman was subsequently arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.

A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a concern for welfare near West Croydon tram stop on Monday, 17 March at around 8.30pm. One woman aged 18 was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.”

Social Media Footage Shows Scenes of Mayhem

Bystanders gathered as the drama unfolded. Videos circulating online show the woman shouting and lashing out while officers tried to restrain her. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported among police or the public.
