Sad news from Hungerford as 86-year-old Colombine “Chris” Charnock has died following a collision in the Tesco car park on Everland Road on December 8.

Beloved Local Figure and Family Woman

Chris Charnock, from Buttermere, was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. She had called the area home for 30 years and was well-known and loved throughout the community.

Passion for Gardening and Ballet

A talented gardener, Chris dedicated years to The League of Friends at The Royal Marsden Hospital. She led the volunteer flower ladies and served as Deputy Chairman. Another passion was ballet; she regularly attended performances at the Royal Opera House.

Community Mourns a Warm Hostess

Known for her warmth and hospitality, Chris loved entertaining and mingling with friends. Her passing leaves a big hole in the hearts of many.

Family Thanks Emergency Services

The family expressed deep gratitude to the emergency responders, Swindon Hospital medics, the Tesco manager and staff, local police, and especially a nurse who arrived first at the scene and knew Chris personally.

“We send our heartfelt thanks to everyone,” the family said.
