Sad news from Hungerford as 86-year-old Colombine “Chris” Charnock has died following a collision in the Tesco car park on Everland Road on December 8.

Beloved Local Figure and Family Woman

Chris Charnock, from Buttermere, was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. She had called the area home for 30 years and was well-known and loved throughout the community.

Passion for Gardening and Ballet

A talented gardener, Chris dedicated years to The League of Friends at The Royal Marsden Hospital. She led the volunteer flower ladies and served as Deputy Chairman. Another passion was ballet; she regularly attended performances at the Royal Opera House.

Community Mourns a Warm Hostess

Known for her warmth and hospitality, Chris loved entertaining and mingling with friends. Her passing leaves a big hole in the hearts of many.

Family Thanks Emergency Services

The family expressed deep gratitude to the emergency responders, swindon/" title="Swindon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Swindon Hospital medics, the Tesco manager and staff, local police, and especially a nurse who arrived first at the scene and knew Chris personally.

“We send our heartfelt thanks to everyone,” the family said.
