Woman Seriously Injured After Being Thrown From Moving Van in Tunbridge Wells

Kent Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses after a woman was allegedly punched and pushed out of a moving vehicle in Tunbridge Wells on Saturday night.

Victim Thrown From Small Grey Van

The shocking attack happened between 9pm and 9.45pm on 14 June 2025 along Pembury Road near Sandrock Road and Dunorlan Park.

The female victim was travelling in a small grey van, described as similar in size and look to a car. During the journey, the driver, who is known to her, punched her in the head before pushing her out of the van at speed.

She suffered serious cuts, burns, and grazes to her head, face, and body. Thankfully, a passing motorist stopped to help and she was rushed to hospital.

Suspect Flees Scene Driving Erratically

The suspect sped off in the grey van, which police believe came from the High Street and Grove Hill Road before heading along Pembury Road. Witnesses reported the vehicle driving dangerously fast and erratically.

Detective Constable Tom Bale said: “The victim was pushed from the vehicle at speed and it is only by chance she didn’t suffer more serious or even fatal injuries. The suspect was driving a small grey van which may also have the appearance of a car. It approached Pembury Road from the direction of the High Street and Grove Hill Road and may have been seen moving erratically and at high speeds.”

Police Urge Public To Check CCTV and Dash Cams

Kent Police are calling on the public for help:

  • Motorists with dash cam footage from the area at the time
  • Residents along the van’s route to review doorbell or CCTV cameras
  • Anyone who saw a grey van driving dangerously or braking suddenly
