Police are on the lookout for witnesses to a tense showdown in a Newport shop queue last Sunday (July 28).

The drama unfolded at Pan Stores, Royal Exchange, Furrlongs, between 6.15pm and 6.50pm. A man and woman clashed while waiting in line.

Officers want to talk to a man who asked the woman if she was okay after the incident. He could hold the key to what happened.
