Kent Police Hit Drug Dealers with Property Bans in Thanet

Kent Police have slammed the door on drug crime in Thanet by securing visitor bans on four properties linked to county lines dealers.

Four Homes Shut Down From Criminal Activity

Between 17 July and 11 August 2020, court orders were slapped on flats and houses in Margate Road (Ramsgate), Dundonald Road (Broadstairs), and two locations on Millmead Road (Margate).

These closures came after police received reports that these addresses were hotbeds for drug dealing, intimidation, and anti-social behaviour, including disturbances and late-night loitering by unknown people and vehicles.

Strict Visitor Restrictions Warned by Police

The new orders mean only approved residents can enter or stay at the properties. Anyone else risks fines or jail. Notices on doors make it clear: trespassers will be prosecuted.

Chief Inspector Ruffle: No Tolerance for Drug Crime

“We do not underestimate the impact that drug dealing and the associated disorder can have on the lives of those who live or work nearby,” said Thanet District Commander Chief Inspector Ed Ruffle.

“We will keep applying for closures if properties remain tied to crime. If issues pop up again after three months, like at Dundonald Road, we won’t hesitate to act again. These orders, combined with arrests, send a clear message: Kent Police won’t stand for this illegal behaviour.”

Residents Urged to Report Suspicious Activity

Police encourage locals to stay vigilant and report suspected drug crimes by calling 101 (or 999 if urgent) or online at Kent Police official website.
