Sussex Police Respond to Possible Firearm Incident in Eastbourne

In the early hours of this morning, nine individuals were arrested in connection with an assault that occurred near Rawnsley Park in Easton, Bristol. Officers responded swiftly to the incident, and a police cordon remains in place as investigations continue.

Incident Details:

At approximately 4.40pm officers were called to the scene near Rawnsley Park following reports of an assault. Two men in their twenties sustained knife wounds and were taken to the hospital. One of the victims is in serious condition.

Attempted Murder Investigation:

The nine individuals arrested are suspected of attempted murder. Authorities believe that the parties involved are acquainted with each other. Neighbourhood Policing Chief Inspector Scott Hill emphasised the significance of the incident and acknowledged similar occurrences in recent months.

“We understand the community’s concern regarding knife crime,” said Chief Inspector Hill. “Our commitment remains steadfast in reducing serious violence, particularly among young people. Earlier this year, we launched a proactive operation targeting knife crime, working closely with our partners to address its root causes.”

Increased Police Presence:

A police cordon is currently in place at Beaumont Terrace and Rawnsley Park. Officers will maintain a heightened presence in the area over the coming days. Residents with concerns or questions are encouraged to engage with patrolling officers.
