Police are investigating a robbery that took place at Heathway, Dagenham, on Thursday, October 17, at around 6,45pm. A couple in their 60s was assaulted by a group of males who demanded money and cigarettes before attempting to steal the woman’s bag.
During the attack, the female victim was threatened with a knife, while the male victim was pushed to the ground and physically assaulted by the group. Both victims received hospital treatment for their injuries, which were confirmed as not life-threatening.
At this early stage, no arrests have been made, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident to come forward.
