Police Search Ongoing at Lewdown
Police are still at the scene of a boat capsize at Roadford Lake in Lewdown, Okehampton. The incident happened yesterday, sparking a major emergency response.
Two People Missing, One Critical
Search efforts resumed this morning, Thursday 9 June, as officers desperately look for two missing individuals presumed to have gone under. Two others were rescued from the water and rushed to Derriford Hospital. One has been discharged, but one remains in critical condition.
Others Treated and Released
Two more people were pulled from the water and checked out by ambulance crews at the scene before being allowed to leave.
Families Supported, Lake Closed
Police are offering support to the families involved while Roadford Lake remains shut indefinitely. Local road closures around the activity centre are also in place to keep emergency services access clear.
