25 Years On: The Mystery of Missing Dad Andrew John Capon

It’s been 25 years since steelworker and devoted dad Andrew John Capon vanished without a trace in Skegness. The family of the 37-year-old is desperate for answers as the heartbreaking anniversary passes.

Final Moments Caught on Camera

Andrew, originally from Grantham and living in Castle Bytham, disappeared on October 3, 1998. Married for 17 years and father to three kids, his family still grapple with the void left by his sudden absence.

The last confirmed sighting of Andrew was caught on CCTV between 1am and 1:30am. He was seen crossing Scarborough Avenue near the pier after a night out in Skegness with three colleagues. The group’s night ended at Streets nightclub on North Parade.

After being kicked out of the club, Andrew was last spotted on Scarborough Avenue. One colleague briefly caught up with him near a street corner before Andrew disappeared. That colleague can’t remember what happened after, losing track of Andrew about half an hour before getting into a taxi.
