Early Morning Cash Demand Turns Dark in SE27
Between 6am and 7am on 3 July 2021, a man in his late 30s faced a terrifying ordeal at a home on Woodvale Walk, SE27. The suspect, also in his late 30s and about 5’7″, forced the victim—a man around the same age—to part with cash under threat.
Suspect Drags Victim to Petrol Station
When the victim claimed he had no money, the suspect didn’t back down. Instead, he compelled him to visit a petrol station on Knight’s Hill, SE27, to withdraw cash. The harrowing event has left the victim shaken and police determined to find the culprit.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Constable Michael Hardy of the Central South Safeguarding Team said:
“This was a traumatic event for the victim and we are determined to bring the man responsible to justice. I would ask the public to take a good look at the man in the image as we really need to speak to him as part of our investigation.
I am conscious that a significant amount of time has passed between the date of this incident and our public appeal. The public will rightly have questions about that. Our investigation has been ongoing throughout this time period and we have continued to support the victim at every stage.”
