Firefighters from Trowbridge and Devizes pulled off a daring rescue after an octogenarian plunged 50 metres down a ravine at Oliver’s Castle, Devizes.
Life-Saving Pulley Rescue
The woman, in her 80s, was trapped and injured when emergency crews arrived Tuesday lunchtime. Fire crews used a basket stretcher and pulley system to haul her to safety.
Air Ambulance Airlift to Hospital
Once rescued, the pensioner was rushed to hospital by the 1 Air Ambulance for urgent treatment.
