Nottinghamshire Launches Youth Outreach Team to Boost Local Teens
Nottinghamshire’s new youth outreach team, led by Romel Davis, is on a mission to help youngsters aged 8 to 16 across the county. The team aims to bridge gaps between police, communities, and young people, offering a fresh start and empowering youth voices.
Goals: From Building Trust to Changing Lives
- Forge stronger relationships between police, communities, and young people
- Offer unique events, competitions, activities, and awards
- Support positive decision-making and life choices
- Give young people a powerful voice in their communities
The team also supports children and teens who have fallen in with the wrong crowd or got involved in crime, helping them turn their lives around.
Smash Hit Launch Event Lights Up Bulwell
The youth team was officially launched on Saturday 18 February at Crabtree Farm Community Centre in Bulwell. The event was a hit, packed with local supporters, a DJ, live performances, sports activities, and a free raffle. Attendees were treated to the team’s first-ever merchandise featuring a brand-new logo.
The logo, designed by 16-year-old Ayesha Azam, shows diverse hands holding up the globe with “youth outreach” emblazoned in the centre. This competition-winning design was unveiled on T-shirts, bags, and more at the launch, making it a special moment for Ayesha and the community.
