A Bluestar double decker bus erupted into flames on the M27, bringing the busy motorway to a grinding halt on Thursday afternoon. The blaze sparked chaos, causing delays of over 60 minutes during peak travel time.
M27 Shutdown Between Junctions 11 and 12
Emergency services were flooded with calls at 5:15pm after the bus caught fire. Hampshire Police quickly shut the motorway between Junction 12 and Junction 11 near Fareham. All traffic is currently at a standstill as firefighters battle the blaze and officers manage the gridlock.
No Injuries Amidst the Chaos
A spokesman from Hampshire Fire Service confirmed there were no injuries to passengers or firefighters. Despite the dramatic scene, everyone on board escaped unharmed.
