Unidentified Remains Found on Whitehill Rd Estate
Human remains were discovered on Sunday, 27 September 2020, inside a unit on a Whitehill Rd estate. Despite extensive police enquiries, the identity of the man and the circumstances surrounding his death remain a mystery.
Forensic Clues Narrow Down Identity
Forensic experts believe the man was at least 35 years old, likely older, with a slight build and standing around 5ft 8ins tall. He had lost several teeth and bore a surgical plate fixed to his left ankle between late 1998 and early 1999.
The surgical plate’s batch number traces back to hospitals in Fife, Sheffield, and Ashford, Kent, suggesting he may have undergone surgery at one of these locations.
Police Appeal For Information
Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Houliston said: “Missing person reports across the UK have been checked, and enquiries made with health authorities about the surgical plate – but so far, no match.”
“Thanks to Face Lab at Liverpool John Moores University, we now have a facial reconstruction based on the remains. We hope someone can recognise this man and help us reunite him with his family.”
