Police are hunting witnesses after a deadly smash on the A280 Long Furlong near Worthing just after midday on Tuesday, May 31.
Fiat Panda Collides with Truck Near Patching
A southbound Fiat Panda slammed into a northbound DAF lorry close to Patching at around 12.18pm. Despite brave efforts from bystanders and paramedics, the car’s sole occupant, an 85-year-old local woman, died instantly at the scene. Miraculously, no one else was hurt.
Road Closed for Hours as Police Probe Incident
Authorities closed a stretch of the road for several hours to carry out investigations and clear the wreckage. Sussex Police thanked the public for their patience during the disruption.
