A huge fire ripped through a five-story, empty residential block undergoing renovations in Croydon.
One Man Escapes Smoke Danger
The London Fire Brigade was called at 4.21 a.m. Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters from Croydon, Woodside, Norbury, and nearby stations rushed to the scene.
One man managed to flee the building before crews arrived. Ambulance teams treated him on site for smoke inhalation.
Fire Extinguished Quickly
Firefighters battled the blaze and brought it under control by 5.33 a.m.
Cause of Blaze Under Investigation
Officials are now probing what sparked the fire at the disused, half-renovated flats on Sydenham Road.
