Tragic Fisherman Lost at Sea Off Hastings Coast
The UK Coastguard sprang into action just before 10am on Thursday after a Mayday call reported a man overboard from a fishing vessel off the Hastings coast. The boat had only two people onboard at the time.
Urgent Rescue Efforts Launched
Coastguard Helicopter 163 and both Hastings RNLI lifeboats were scrambled immediately to the scene. The brave crews managed to recover the casualty from the water and rushed him to hospital by air.
Heartbreak as Fisherman Dies Despite Rescue
Tragically, the man later died at hospital. The loss has sent shockwaves through the local fishing community.
“Our thoughts are with the fisherman’s family and friends at this difficult time,” the Coastguard said.
