A ground-floor storage room at a Kentish Town school went up in flames early this morning, but luckily no one was hurt.

Firefighter and Former Pupil Races to Save School

Steven Cronin, a firefighter from Kentish Town and a former pupil who left in 2005, was at the scene. He said, “The school holds a special place in my heart. I was anxious to help and knowing the layout helped me find the fire quickly. I’m proud to have assisted my old community — this job will stay with me forever.”

Swift Response Quells Blaze

The Brigade was alerted at 5.35am. By 6.37am, the fire was under control. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Kentish Town, Holloway, and Euston stations scrambled to the scene.

Accidental Fire Linked to Faulty Cooling Fan

Officials say the fire was accidental. Investigators believe a fault in a cooling fan sparked the blaze.
