Man Killed in Tragic Tooting Bec Tube Incident

A man has died after being struck by a train at Tooting Bec underground station on the Northern Line, sparking a major emergency response in SW17.

Air Ambulance Scrambles to Scene

London’s Air Ambulance was seen landing on nearby Tooting Common as paramedics rushed to the station. Despite frantic lifesaving attempts, the man could not be revived.

Emergency Services Responded Swiftly

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12:31pm on January 17 to reports of a person injured at Tooting Bec Underground Station. We sent an ambulance crew, incident response officer, medics in cars, and our hazardous area response team (HART). We’re also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.”

“Sadly, despite the efforts of medics at the scene, the person died.”
