Stay Safe Near Water – Firefighters’ Warning
Firefighters urge the public to be cautious near rivers and lakes. “Water can be much deeper than it looks,” they say. Even on warm days, cold water shock can strike fast and catch swimmers off guard.
“If you’re out drinking, steer clear of the water,” they add. “Always plan your journey home – book a taxi, get a lift, or choose well-lit routes far from rivers, lakes, and the coast.”
