Serious Quad Bike Crash Shuts Major Kent Roads
A major road in Herne Bay and a key stretch of the A299 in Kent are shut after a man fell from a quad bike in a serious incident.
Chaos on A229 as Crash Blocks Traffic
Kent Roads Policing officers and collision investigators are still at the scene, expecting the closure to last for hours. The crash involved a man riding in a group who fell from the quad bike.
The A229 slip road at Canterbury Road and a large section of the London-bound A229 are closed. Traffic is at a standstill in the area and all nearby approaches.
Air Ambulance Lands After Serious Injury
Kent Police said officers were called at 3.44pm on Tuesday 14 July 2020, following reports of a man falling from a quad bike on Thanet Way near the Herne Bay exit.
Emergency crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex attended. The air ambulance landed after a road closure was enforced.
The injured man was rushed to a London hospital. The London-bound carriageway remains closed while investigations continue.
