Big Vaccine Breakthrough as Half-Dose Trick Boosts Effectiveness
Chief exec Pascal Soriot has revealed a surprising vaccine breakthrough. An accidental discovery showed the jab works best when a half dose is given first, followed by a full one. “Now that we’ve found what looks like better efficacy, we have to validate this,” Soriot told Bloomberg.
He confirmed an extra international study is on the cards. But it should be quicker since the improved effectiveness means fewer patients are needed. Crucially, Soriot said this won’t delay UK regulatory approval.
