Nikita Officially Takes Over BBC Asian Network Breakfast Show

From Fill-In to Firm Favourite

Nikita burst onto the BBC Asian Network scene in 2021 as a Saturday afternoon host. Since July, she’s been the voice of the Breakfast show, and now she’s made it permanent. Her bright, energetic style has made her the nation’s morning soundtrack. Fans know her for lively chats, hilarious cricket-eating stunts on air, and star interviews with big names like Akon, Nadia Hussain, and Paul Choudhry.

“I’m really excited to be taking on the breakfast show permanently. It’s the only job that I have ever jumped out of bed at 4am for,” Nikita said. “Every day is different — you never know what you’re going to get.”

Listeners Become Family

Nikita’s bond with listeners has been instant. She calls them her “best friends” who keep the laughs and banter coming. “I don’t know what I would do without them,” she admits. “I can’t wait to get stuck into more ‘Kanda Chaos’ as my producers like to call it. Just make sure to join in for this crazy ride — I promise it will be a lot of FUN!”

New Shows to Pump Up and Celebrate South Asian Culture

BBC Asian Network is also launching two fresh on-demand shows on BBC Sounds:

  • Asian Network Motivation — A high-energy health and motivation show featuring Bollywood, Pop, Dance, Hip Hop, and Bhangra mixes. Perfect for workouts or a power boost. Launching March.
  • Asian Network Celebrates — A tribute series celebrating South Asian music, film, and icons with live performances and archive interviews in 60-minute episodes. Starts April.

“Our new shows are tailor-made for listeners to enjoy on their own time. Asian Network Motivation will get you moving with brilliant beats, while Asian Network Celebrates shines a spotlight on the biggest South Asian legends.”
