BBC South East Walks 61 Miles for Children in Need

A BBC South East team has smashed a tough long-distance walk across Kent and Sussex to raise cash for Children in Need.

61-Mile Pier-to-Pier Challenge

The 1 pier-to-pier challenge kicked off from Gravesend on Monday, launching a gruelling 61-mile (98km) trek. Over five days, the walkers pushed through countryside, determined to boost funds for the nationwide campaign encouraging people to get walking.

From Gravesend to Eastbourne Pier

The route began at Town Pier, Gravesend, cutting through remote north Kent landscapes before hitting Tunbridge Wells. Then it pushed on through Mayfield and Heathfield, following the famous Cuckoo Trail before finishing at Eastbourne Pier.

Millions Raised for Children in Need

The BBC One appeal show ended on a high, revealing a staggering total of £35,273,167 raised. The three-hour special captivated viewers nationwide, driving donations to new heights.
