Police have confirmed that the major incident declared after a fire at a care home in Blackpool has now been stood down. The fire broke out around 8.30pm on Wednesday, April 1, at a care home on Queen’s Promenade, Bispham.

Emergency Crews Rush to Scene

North West Ambulance Service, Blackpool Police, and Lancashire Fire and Rescue were quick to respond. Seven ambulances, four Hazardous Area Response Teams, three officers, an advanced paramedic, and a doctor all attended the blaze.

Casualties and Safety Assured

  • Two people were hospitalised for observation
  • 21 others received treatment at the scene and were discharged

The authorities confirmed that the safety and welfare of all residents involved have been fully addressed. Lancashire Fire and Rescue stated the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
