Body Found on River Avon Bank in Bristol
Tragic Discovery Near Bedminster Bridge
Just before 2:45pm today (Saturday 29 October), a member of the public spotted a body on the River Avon bank near Bedminster Bridge and alerted an on-duty officer.
Police, ambulance, and fire crews rushed to the scene. The fire service recovered the body, and sadly, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Possible ID Matches Missing Man
Formal ID is yet to be confirmed, but the body matches the description of 54-year-old Bakar, who went missing from St Anne’s earlier this week.
Authorities have contacted Bakar’s family this evening to break the devastating news and offer support.
Ongoing Investigation
Enquiries are underway with the coroner’s office. Police say there are currently no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
