RNLI Lifeboat Crew Rescue Two Dogs – And Mistake Seal for Swimmer!
Dogs in Trouble Spark Lifeboat Launch
Brighton RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew were called out at 9:52 AM on Sunday, 3rd March 2024. Reports came in of two dogs struggling in the water near the King Alfred Leisure Centre. The team raced to the scene, ready to save the day.
Swimmer in Distress? Nope – It’s a Seal!
While searching, the crew received another alert about a possible swimmer in trouble nearby. But after a thorough sweep, they made a surprising discovery – the “swimmer” was actually a harmless seal, perfectly safe and sound. That twist added a splash of wildlife drama to the rescue mission.
Dogs Found Safe Thanks to Paddle Boarder
The lifeboat crew then refocused on the two pups. Luckily, the dogs were located safe and dry back on shore. Turns out, a paddle boarder had given them a lift, solving the mystery of how they got out to sea.
This rescue highlights the unpredictable nature of Brighton’s waters – and the dedication of the RNLI volunteers ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice.
