Teen Charged Over Fatal Stabbing in Thornton Heath
A 19-year-old man has appeared in court accused of the brutal stabbing murder of 27-year-old Michael Patrick Afonso Peixoto in Thornton Heath. The shocking attack happened just after 10.30pm on December 19, 2023, on Mayfield Crescent.
Suspect Faces Multiple Charges
John Budal, from Ena Road, Streatham, was charged with murder, robbery, possession of an offensive weapon, and cannabis possession. He made his first court appearance at Bromley Magistrates Court on Saturday, December 30, where he was remanded in custody. Budal is set to appear next at the Old Bailey on January 3.
Police Hunt Others Involved
The Metropolitan Police confirmed a group of men likely played a role in the attack. A 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder on December 24 but was later released on bail while investigations continue.
