A cargo ship has run aground at Silloth in an incident that occurred during the early hours.

The vessel in question is the Bremen, measuring 89.88 meters, which reportedly became stuck in the early hours of the morning.

Flying under the flag of Cyprus, the Bremen embarked on its journey from Klaipeda, Lithuania, on May 2 and arrived at Silloth at approximately 12:10 a.m. today.

Owned by the Baltic Shipping Company, the cargo ship’s grounding has prompted response efforts to assess the situation and mitigate any potential risks.

This incident follows an unrelated event in February, where a tanker ran aground at the Port of Silloth, resulting in a leakage of molasses.

The circumstances surrounding the grounding of the Bremen are currently under investigation, with authorities working to ensure the safety of both the vessel and the surrounding environment.
