Gaming titan Vince Zampella, 55, has died after his Ferrari careered off a twisting mountain road near Los Angeles. The crash happened Sunday afternoon on the notoriously dangerous Angeles Crest Highway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Zampella’s Ferrari slammed into a concrete barrier before erupting in flames. Rescue crews found Zampella trapped inside the burning wreckage. His passenger was thrown from the car and later died in hospital.

Zampella co-created the Call of Duty franchise, one of the world’s biggest gaming successes with over 500 million copies sold. He was former CEO of Infinity Ward and later led Respawn Entertainment, behind the critically praised Battlefield 6 released just last October.
