Chef’s Near-Death Experience as Eurotunnel Train Tears Up 400m of Overhead Cables

A chef on board a Eurotunnel train had a lucky escape today after the train ripped out 400 metres of overhead cabling en route to France.

Chaos Onboard as Pantograph Snaps and Destroys Roof

A source inside Eurotunnel, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed the drama. “The pantograph caught and was ripped off, smashing through the roof of the restaurant car. The bloke involved is lucky to be alive.” Emergency teams rushed to ground the damaged cables and carry out urgent repairs.

Massive Delays Across the Channel

Thousands of travellers have been hit by delays at both ends of the tunnel. Queue times are up to six hours and expected to continue for some time, according to insiders.

Emergency Rescue and Investigation Underway

An emergency rescue train was dispatched to free passengers trapped onboard the stricken train. Officials have launched a probe into the incident. Eurostar and Eurotunnel have been contacted for comment.

Note: Earlier reports incorrectly stated a Eurostar train was involved. It was, in fact, a Eurotunnel service.
