Firefighters Rush to Dartford Blaze
Chaos erupted in Pepys Close, Dartford, when a nasty kitchen fire broke out yesterday evening. The Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were scrambled at 7.20pm after urgent calls reported flames engulfing a home.
Three fire engines roared to the scene, with crews quickly donning breathing apparatus and launching hose reel jets to battle the inferno.
Five Suffer Smoke Inhalation
- Five people were treated for smoke inhalation by South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics.
- Their current condition remains under wraps as medics continue care.
Fire Finally Doused After Three Hours
Emergency teams fought the blaze hard, managing to fully extinguish the fire by around 10pm.
A KFRS spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a kitchen fire on Pepys Close, in Dartford. Three fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Five people were passed into the care of SECAmb for smoke inhalation. The KFRS Voluntary Response Team attended to support affected residents. The cause is not yet known.”
