The team is one of only 11 nationwide, standing by for underwater searches across the East Midlands and beyond. With just ten qualified divers, each must complete regular training dives to keep sharp and ready for emergency call-outs.

PC James Patterson, Dive Supervisor for the Underwater Search Unit, opened up about their vital work:
