Eastern Road Shuts for MRI Crane Lift at Royal Sussex
Buzz alert! Eastern Road will be closed this weekend, October 8th and 9th, right by the 3Ts Redevelopment site at Royal Sussex County Hospital. Traffic will be rerouted south along St George’s Road, but don’t worry – all hospital entrances and buildings remain fully 1 as usual.
New High-Tech MRIs Arrive at Cutting-Edge Imaging Department
The closure is to safely lift two brand-new MRI machines into the hospital’s main Imaging Department on level 4 of the shiny new building. Slated to open spring 2023, the upgraded department boasts the latest kit in a spacious, purpose-built environment, promising patients top-tier scans in style.
Bright Views and Better Care at the Front Line
The main outpatient imaging waiting room faces the sea, complete with stunning views and access to a large terrace. “People who’ve used the service in the old Barry Building won’t believe this is the same hospital,” says one imaging staffer. “It’s miles better – so much more space.”
Fracture Clinic Next Door for Easy Patient Journeys
The Fracture Clinic is also moving to level 4, right alongside imaging. Since many patients visit both, having them under one roof makes appointments easier and smoother for everyone. Streamlining patient journeys is one of the new building’s top priorities.
