Two Crashes Bring Traffic to a Standstill
Emergency services rushed to Ryde this afternoon following two separate collisions on St Johns Road and Quarry Road.
Rover Pensioner Hits Ford Focus
Police and paramedics attended the scene after a blue Rover, driven by a pensioner, smashed into the rear of a blue Ford Focus. The collision has completely blocked the road.
Officers are now directing traffic as queues build back to Binstead Hill, causing major delays for drivers heading into the area.
Head-On Smash at Quarry Road Junction
A second crash occurred nearby on Quarry Road where a Toyota Aygo collided head-on with a Vauxhall Astra van. Emergency crews are also dealing with this incident.
One Hospitalised Following First Crash
Update 3:30pm: One person involved in the initial collision has been taken to hospital. Paramedics continue to treat those on scene.
