Serious Crash on A280 Leaves Woman Hospitalised

A woman suffered serious injuries after her car collided with another on the A280 at Long Furlong on Wednesday morning (September 23).

Crash Details: Two Cars Collide

The smash happened just before 9.30am between Findon and Clapham. A black Chrysler Voyager, heading south, crashed into a white Toyota Aygo going north.

The Chrysler driver, a 25-year-old man from Crawley, and his passenger had minor injuries. But the Toyota’s 60-year-old female driver from Rustington was badly hurt and rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Road Closure and Police Appeal

Emergency services closed the A280 for rescue, recovery, and investigation work. The road reopened around 3.30pm.

Police want witnesses to come forward. If you saw the crash or have dashcam footage before the collision, report it online or call 101 quoting “Operation Envelope.”
