Exmouth Lifeboat Crew Rescue Fisherman Caught by Tide Near Dawlish Warren
At 4.05pm on Friday 28 October 2022, the Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat crew were scrambled after a shore fisherman was reported trapped by the tide north of Dawlish Warren.
Quick Response and Safe Rescue
The call came from Exmouth NCI and was relayed by H.M. Coastguard. The volunteer crew launched the D-805 George Bearman II lifeboat at 4.15pm and arrived on scene within minutes.
By the time the crew reached the location, the fisherman had managed to wade across the water to safety on Dawlish Warren. Lifesavers quickly assessed him and confirmed he was safe and uninjured, needing no medical attention. The mission was stood down at 4.32pm.
Back on Station and Ready for Action
The RNLI crew returned promptly to Exmouth Lifeboat Station, with the lifeboat back in service by just after 5pm.
