Horse Rescue Drama in Southampton
Firefighters raced to the rescue when a horse got trapped over a bar inside a horsebox at Little Moorgreen Stables, Burnett’s Lane, West End, Southampton. The distress call came in at around 1.45pm on 17th February 2018, prompting a rapid response.
Specialist Team Springs Into Action
Five fire engines from Brockenhurst, Hightown, and the Specialist Animal Rescue Team from Winchester rolled up to the scene. Hampshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson revealed they carefully sedated the trapped horse with the help of a local vet from Alton before using cutting tools to free it. Thankfully, the horse was unharmed and fit after the ordeal.
