Blaze Erupts at Derelict Castle Works in Wroxall

A fierce fire has broken out at the old Castle Works on Station Road, Wroxall, Isle of Wight. Firefighters and police are at the scene, with a 25-metre cordon in place to keep the public safe.

The cause of the blaze is still unknown, with police and fire crews carrying out investigations. Local residents have been urged to stay indoors and keep windows and doors firmly shut until further notice.

Firefighters Rushed Additional Units to Tackle Inferno

A spokeswoman for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters are battling flames ripping through a derelict building and nearby industrial units off Castle Road. More appliances have been deployed, including an Incident Command unit from Newport and a water carrier from Freshwater.”
