Smoke Scare on Isle of Wight as LPG Tanker’s Brakes Overheat
Fire Crews Rush to Scene
Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue from Ryde Station were scrambled after the driver of an LPG tanker spotted smoke pouring from under the cab. The call came in at 10:36 this morning in Brading, triggering an immediate emergency response.
Road Closed, Brakes Cooled
Authorities quickly shut the road as fire crews tackled the incident. Using a hose reel and thermal imaging camera, they worked to cool down the overheated brakes and prevent a potential disaster.

A fire service spokeswoman confirmed, “Crews are using a hose reel and thermal imaging camera” to manage the situation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the quick action stopped the blaze from spreading.
