Huge Straw Fire Sparks Emergency in Maidstone’s Mote Park
Kent Fire and Rescue Service raced to Mote Park in Maidstone after reports of a massive straw blaze. Two fire engines and a bulk water carrier battled the flames, using hose reel jets and main jets to douse the fire.
Massive 50-Tonne Fire Tamed
The fire had engulfed around 50 tonnes of straw and wood chippings before firefighters brought it under control. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Cause Still a Mystery
Officials have yet to determine what sparked the fiery drama in the popular park.
